Things to do in London on 25 October – George III became king on this day in 1760, the so-called ‘mad king’ who lost America and spent the later part of the 1780s couped up inside Kew Palace. Most of the palace has been knocked down now, but the Dutch House still survives in the grounds of Kew Gardens.
