If you like the idea of a sky dive but don't quite have the nerve to strap on a parachute and throw yourself out of a perfectly good airplane at 10,000 feet, then IFly will let you experience the sensation of an aerial freefall without subjecting you to the terror of a real one!

Pre-flight briefing and training session

Upon arrival at the O2 you'll gear up in a jumpsuit and have a pre-flight safety briefing with an expert instructor, who will teach you some essential techniques before you step inside the vertical wind tunnel.

If you're a first-time flyer then you'll likely be asigned two different instructors - one to help you inside the actual tunnel, and another to control the air speed. If your group has a mixture of first-time and experienced flyers then don't worry, because you'll always be 1-on-1 with an instructor who will move at your pace.

How long is the sky dive?

Each 'flight' is designed to replicate a genuine skydiving freefall, so it only lasts about 60 seconds. It might not sound very long but trust us... it will seem much longer than that during the actual experience! And this offer provides you with two flights - so that’s the same freefall time as three tandem skydives.

The flight chamber has been designed to deliver a smooth air flow and when you enter the wind tunnel you'll find yourself suspended in mid-air by a 120mph airstream.

This is the same practice that's used by skydiving experts to test out their techniques before they take to the skies.

Are there any restrictions?

There's a maximum weight limit of 18 stone 7lbs (117kgs), and under-18s must have parental consent. Flyers should be in good general health. If you have a disability or a history of heart, back or neck problems, then its best to check with the centre first before you book.
