Things to do in London on 15 November – Sir Francis Drake set sail on his circumnavigation of the world on this day in 1577. He left in a ship called the Pelican but renamed it the Golden Hinde a short time later. You can see a full-size replica of it next to Southwark Cathedral. His fleet of five ships took just three years to complete the trip.
