The National Portrait Gallery will be showcasing some of the most iconic images from The Face - the trail-blazing style magazine that helped to shape youth culture throughout the 1980s and beyond.

The Face gave artists the creative space and freedom to re-imagine the visual language of fashion photography, and by championing young talent it helped to launch the careers of many of our leading photographers and fashion stylists.

Many of the models and musicians that featured on its cover went on to achieve global fame, and the exhibition will include iconic shots of David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Snoop Dogg, Liam Gallagher, Kate Moss and Kylie Minogue.

On display will be over 200 photographs by 80 different photographers such as Sheila Rock, Stéphane Sednaoui, Corinne Day, David Sims, Elaine Constantine and Sølve Sundsbø.
