This 2 1/2 hour tour will see you travel the London Underground network and visit some of the tube's oldest and newest stations.
Designed with transport history buffs in mind, the tour begins at Baker Street station. This was one of the original stops on the Metropolitan line - the world's first underground railway - and your guide will explain how the Victorians managed to dig the tunnels by hand in a time before today's technological advances.
Then you'll visit Oxford Circus and Green Park and learn about the dusty, deserted platforms at Down Street.
This was originally found between Hyde Park Corner and Dover Street (now called Green Park), but was forced to close in 1932 due to a lack of passengers. During the Second World War it was commandeered as a bunker by Winston Churchill whilst the Cabinet War Rooms were being built.
After visiting Piccadilly Circus and Embankment the tour will come to an end at Westminster, where you'll discover the history of the steam-operated District Railway (now called the District line).
As you travel between the stations your friendly guide will be sharing lots of interesting trivia, discussing all the haunted and abandoned stations, and reveal the tube's vital role in providing shelter for Londoners during the Blitz.
It's a great way to see a more intimate side of London, giving you a glimpse of the city that will help you see it from a completely different perspective.
Note: The cost does not include train fares or train tickets, and you'll need to provide your own Oyster card, contactless card or travelcard that covers zones 1–2.
