Following its sell-out run at the Royal Court Theatre, Giant is transferring to the West End with Hollywood actor John Lithgow reprising his role as children's author Roald Dahl.

Set in the summer of 1983 during the writing of The Witches, Mark Rosenblatt's critically acclaimed play follows the outcry that accompanied the publication of Dahl's antisemitic article.

While he's sitting in his family home making some last-minute edits to his manuscript, the growing scandal leads to an unexpectedly explosive confrontation that forces him into a battle of wills. Was the article dangerous rhetoric, or simply his considered opinion?

Faced with just one chance to make amends, Dahl has to choose between making a humiliating public apology or risk his reputation forever.
