It's been twelve long years since we last saw a stand-up show from Peter Kay but he's certainly back with a bang, embarking on a 29-date residence at the O2 Arena. That's one show a month between 2022 and 2025!
No music or comedy star has ever attempted such a lengthy run of shows, and it's almost certainly going to enter the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest selling comedy tour of all time, outstripping his own world record in 2010.
Happly he's the same old Peter as before, still riffing on nostaliga and things he remembers from his youth. He covers everything from advertising jingles, misheard song lyrics and his recent kidney stone operation to his appearance on Doctor Who. And it wouldn't be a Peter Kay show without a bit about garlic bread and his dear old nan.
Peter said: "It's good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy, and if there's ever a time people need a laugh it's now. Audiences in London have always been amongst the best in Britain."
