The Courtauld Gallery will be putting on a major new exhibition by Claude Monet.
Monet was a leading figure in the French Impressionist movement, but what is less well-known is that some of his most remarkable paintings were actually made in London, and not France, and were painted over three stays from 1899 to 1901.
His extraordinary views of the Thames depict Charing Cross Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and the Houses of Parliament from a spot near the Savoy Hotel, and were unveiled in Paris during his landmark 1904 exhibition. To this day, they have never been the subject of an exhibition in the UK, and this will be the first time they have been brought together for 120 years.
