Peak and off-peak times
For Oyster and contactless off-peak is outside the hours of 6.30 AM-9.30 AM and 4 PM-7 PM (Mon-Fri). For travelcards off-peak is any time after 9.30 AM (Mon-Fri). Weekends and public holidays are always classed as off-peak.
The price is based on what time your journey begins. It doesn’t matter when it ends.
Stairs, lifts and escalators
Temple is not wheelchair accessible
Entrance – The Victoria Embankment entrance and booking hall are on the level, but you must use one flight of 10 stairs from the Temple Place entrance. After that you must use another three flights of stairs to the platforms (16 steps down +7 steps down +6 steps down to the eastbound platform, and 19 steps down +4 steps down +5 steps down to the westbound platform)
Exit – You must use three flights of stairs from the platforms to the booking hall (6 steps up +7 steps up +16 steps up from the eastbound platform, and 5 steps up +4 steps up +19 steps up from the westbound platform). After that there’s another flight of 10 stairs to the Temple Place exit, but the Victoria Embankment exit is on the level
