The quintessentially English menu includes everything you'd expect of a traditional afternoon tea... dainty finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, fancy cakes and pastries created by the hotel's own pastry kitchen, and a selection of freshly brewed loose teas.

Typical fillings for the finger sandwiches include smoked ham and cheddar cheese, burford brown egg mayonnaise, roast chicken and pesto mayonnaise, raspberry jam and peanut butter, and roasted hazelnut spread.

The pastries might include a chocolate caramel choux bun, a strawberry cream doughnut and a lemon drizzle cake.

Children aged between 5-12 can try the 'Little Prince and Princess Tea' which has bite-size sandwiches, cakes and pastries, alongside a milkshake, hot chocolate or soda.

If you'd like to make your meal that extra bit special then you can upgrade your ticket to include a glass of champagne.

Is there a dress code?

The dress code inside the Palace lounge is smart casual. Sportswear, non-tailored shorts and flip-flops are not allowed.
