Following its record-breaking run across the country, Robert Bolt's critically acclaimed play A Man For All Seasons is coming to the West End for a strictly-limited run of just thirty eight performances.

Martin Shaw (Inspector George Gently, Judge John Deed) plays the part of Lord Chancellor Sir Thomas More - Henry VIII's long-time friend and ally. But his powerful position starts to unravel when Henry decides to divorce his Catholic Queen Catherine of Aragon so he can marry the protestant Anne Boleyn.

As a man of integrity, the staunchly Catholic Thomas decides that his own conscience is more important than his loyalty to the King, and commits an incredible act of defiance for which he will pay the ultimate price.

Originally performed in 1957, the play was later turned into a Academy Award-winning movie that brought to life some of the most famous names in English history - Henry VIII, Thomas More, Thomas Cromwell, Thomas Cranmer, Cardinal Wolsey, Anne Boleyn and Catherine of Aragon.

What the theatre critics say...
