"When you're stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea... the deep blue sea can sometimes look very inviting." Hester is the daughter of a clergyman and married to a judge, but she's trapped in the closing stages of a hopeless affair. Her lover Freddie is an ex-Battle of Britain pilot, but he's totally out of his depth in their relationship and becomes overwhelmed by the emotions that he's incapable of reciprocating.

Award-winning cast with Tamsin Grieg

Stage and screen star Tamsin Greig (Black Books, Green Wing) picked up an Oliver Award for Best Actress in 2007's Much Ado About Nothing and a nomination for The Little Dog Laughed. Selina Cadell is probably best-known for the role of Mrs Tishell in Doc Martin, but has appeared in everything from The Madness of King George to Miss Marple.

The cast also includes Tony Award nominee Finbar Lynch (Girl From The North Country), Nicholas Farrell (Chariots of Fire, House Of Cards) and Lisa Ambalavanar (Doctors, Titans).
