The Tower of London will be marking this year's Remembrance period with a poignant sound and light display that projects images from World War I and II onto the Tower's historic architecture.
Poppy Fields at the Tower will take visitors on a stirring journey through the wars, and give them an opportunity to honour any loved ones who served in the armed forces, and remember those who lost their lives. The installation will also look forward with optimism, and explore our collective desire for peace.
After-hours access to the Crown Jewels
Anybody who's visited the Tower during the day will have seen the queues to visit the Crown Jewels. As an added bonus, this event will also give visitors a chance to experience the Jewel House after-hours, without the usual day-time crowds.
A special display inside will tell the story of how the Crown Jewels were removed from the Tower for safe-keeping during both World Wars, and explain their importance as a national symbol during times of conflict.
Frequently asked questions
Poppy Fields at the Tower takes place inside the Tower walls, but only in the outdoor spaces. The only building you'll get to see inside is the Jewel House. And the event will still go ahead in bad weather - so remember to wrap up warm!
Hearty bowls of soup, warming cups of hot chocolate, and freshly made crepes will also be available to buy on site.
