The Royal Shakespeare Company is transferring their sell-out production of A Midsummer Night's Dream to the Barbican Theatre.

The enchanting and supernatural story throws together a mischievous fairy and four confused lovers to create a scene of absolute chaos... Lysander loves Hermia, Helena loves Demetrius (who used to love Helena) but now he loves Hermia. So when Hermia's father insists that she settle down with Demetrius she promptly runs away... only to find the King and Queen of the fairies Oberon and Titania having their own battle of love.

As the fairy world and real world collide - blurring the lines between reality and illusion - the story transports you from deepest midwinter to a magical midsummer night... but will they be able to disentangle their relationships in time to live happily ever after?

What the theatre critics say...

The Guardian: ★★★★★ "A ravishing fusion of flamboyancy, surrealism and raucous fun"; The Times: ★★★★ "Joyous entertainment delivered by a crack ensemble"
