Fans of Downton Abbey will love this day trip to Bampton village and Highclere Castle, where the popular TV show was filmed.
The 9-hour tour will set off from London in an air-conditioned coach filled with fellow Downton Abbey fans, whilst your guide sits at the front sharing behind-the-scenes stories and historical insights as you drive through the English countryside.
Bampton - The setting for Downton's village
Your first stop will be at the charming rural town of Bampton - the real-life setting for Downton's pretty village.
The 1-hour visit will include a guided walk past familiar sights like the Downton Cottage Hospital which became a battleground between the Dowager and Lady Crawley, and Isabel Crawley's house which she once shared with Matthew.
You'll also get to look inside the local church where the butler Carson and Mrs Hughes got married, see two of the show's fictional pubs - The Grantham Arms and Dog & Duck - and walk across the village green where they had their summer fetes and game of cricket.
Highclere Castle - The setting for Downton Abbey
Then you'll reboard the coach for the journey to Highclere Castle, where you'll be able to walk in the footsteps of Lord and Lady Grantham on a self-guided tour.
You'll have 3 hours to explore the upstairs rooms including the entrance, staircase, dining room, drawing room, music room, morning room, saloon and library. (Note: You don't get to see the show's downstairs kitchens, because they were actually filmed on a set in London.)
There will also be plenty of time to enjoy lunch and buy some souvenirs at the castle.
