For Oyster and contactless off-peak is outside the hours of 6.30 AM-9.30 AM and 4 PM-7 PM (Mon-Fri). For travelcards off-peak is any time after 9.30 AM (Mon-Fri). Weekends and public holidays are always classed as off-peak.

The price is based on what time your journey begins. It doesn’t matter when it ends.

Stairs, lifts and escalators

Entrance – [1] To get to the booking hall from the Poultry/​Mansion House Street entrances you must use two flights of stairs (16 steps down +4 steps down), or two flights from the Threadneedle Street northside entrance (9 steps down +11 steps down), or one flight from the Threadneedle Street southside/​Cornhill northside entrances (19 steps down), or two flights from the Cornhill southside entrance (16 steps down +6 steps down), or one flight from the Mansion House Place/​Queen Victoria Street northside entrances (20 steps down), or one flight from the Queen Victoria Street southside entrance (18 steps down). After that you must use an escalator down to the Central line platforms, or two escalators plus two flights of stairs to the Circle/​District line platforms (15 steps up +14 steps up), or three escalators plus five flights of stairs to the DLR platforms (12 steps up +11 steps up +10 steps up +2x12 steps down), or an escalator plus four flights of stairs to the Northern line platforms (16 steps down +8 steps down +13 steps down +21 steps down), or a long ramp down plus a long travelator to the Waterloo & City line platforms. [2] To get to the booking hall from the King William Street entrance you must use a lift (or two flights of 9, 16 stairs). After that you must use a lift (or an escalator) plus three flights of stairs to the Central line platforms (13 steps down +8 steps down +16 steps down), or a lift plus an escalator plus three flights of stairs to the Circle/​District line platforms (21 steps down +15 steps up +14 steps up), or two lifts and two escalators to the DLR platforms, or a lift plus one flight of stairs to the Northern line platforms (21 steps down), or two lifts plus three flights of stairs to the Waterloo & City line platforms (13 steps down +8 steps down +16 steps down). [3] To get to the booking hall from the Fish Street Hill entrance you must use one flight of stairs (6 steps down), or one flight from the Great Tower Street entrance (16 steps down), or three flights from the Cannon Street entrance (19 steps down +5 steps down +5 steps up). After that you must use an escalator plus eight flights of stairs to the Central line platforms (2x12 steps down +14 steps down +15 steps down +21 steps up +13 steps up +8 steps up +16 steps up), or two flights of stairs to the Circle/​District line platforms (7 steps down +15 steps to the eastbound platform, or 2x12 steps to the westbound platform), or two escalators plus two flights of stairs to the DLR platforms (2x12 steps down), or an escalator plus four flights of stairs to the Northern line platforms (2x12 steps down, 14 steps down +15 steps down), or an escalator plus five flights of stairs to the Waterloo & City line platforms (2x12 steps down, 14 steps down +15 steps down +21 steps up)

Exit – [1] You must use an escalator from the Central line platforms to the booking hall, or two escalators plus two flights of stairs from the Circle/​District line platforms (14 steps down +15 steps down), or three escalators plus five flights of stairs from the DLR platforms (2x12 steps up +10 steps down +11 steps down +12 steps down), or an escalator plus four flights of stairs from the Northern line platforms (21 steps up +13 steps up +8 steps up +16 steps up), or a long ramp plus a long travelator from the Waterloo & City line platforms. After that you must use two flights of stairs to the Poultry/​Mansion House Street exits (4 steps up +16 steps up), or two flights to the Threadneedle Street northside exit (11 steps up +9 steps up), or one flight to the Threadneedle Street southside/​Cornhill northside exits (19 steps up), or two flights to the Cornhill southside exit (6 steps up +16 steps up), or one flight to the Mansion House Place/​Queen Victoria Street northside exits (20 steps up), or one flight to the Queen Victoria Street southside exit (18 steps up). [2] You must use a lift (or an escalator) plus three flights of stairs from the Central line platforms to the booking hall (16 steps up +8 steps up +13 steps up, or a lift plus an escalator plus three flights of stairs from the Circle/​District line platforms (+14 steps down +15 steps down +21 steps up), or two lifts and two escalators from the DLR platforms, or a lift plus one flight of stairs from the Northern line platforms (21 steps up), or two lifts plus three flights of stairs from the Waterloo & City line platforms (16 steps up +8 steps up +13 steps up). After that you must use a lift to the King William Street exit (or two flights of 9, 16 stairs). [3] You must use an escalator plus eight flights of stairs from the Central line platforms to the booking hall (+16 steps down +8 steps down +13 steps down +21 steps down +15 steps up +14 steps up +2x12 steps up), or two flights of stairs from the Circle/​District line platforms (15 steps up +7 steps from the eastbound platform, or 2x12 steps from the westbound platform), or two escalators plus two flights of stairs from the DLR platforms (2x12 steps up), or an escalator plus four flights of stairs from the Northern line platforms (15 steps up, 14 steps up +2x12 steps up), or an escalator plus five flights of stairs from the Waterloo & City line platforms (21 steps down +15 steps up 14 steps up +2x12 steps up). After that you must use one flight of stairs to the Fish Street Hill exit (6 steps up), or one flight to the Great Tower Street exit (16 steps up), or three flights to the Cannon Street exit (5 steps down +5 steps up +19 steps up)

Changing platforms – You must use stairs when changing between the Circle/​District platforms and the Northern line at Bank station
