Oval station entrance – There’s an escalator between the entrance and the northbound platform, but you must use an escalator plus one flight of stairs to the southbound platform (21 steps down). If you want to avoid the escalator then you can use another five flights of stairs (20 steps down +2x26 steps down +28 steps down +4 steps up)

Changing tube line at Stockwell – Changing between the Northern northbound and Victoria northbound, or the Northern southbound and Victoria southbound, is on the level, but you must use stairs for all other platform changes

Vauxhall station exit – There’s a lift between the platforms and the booking hall. If you want to avoid the lift then you can use an escalator, or five flights of stairs (3 steps up +4x17 steps up). After that there’s two flights of stairs to the South Lambeth Road exit (2x10 steps down) and Vauxhall Bridge Road exit (20 steps down +16 steps down), but the entrances on Bondway westside, Wandsworth Road westside and Kennington Lane are all on the level

For Oyster and contactless off-peak is outside the hours of 6.30 AM-9.30 AM and 4 PM-7 PM (Mon-Fri). For travelcards it’s any time after 9.30 AM (Mon-Fri). Weekends are always classed as off-peak. Note: Between the 8th March and 31st May 2024 TFL are running a trial called ‘Off-Peak Friday Fares’, where Fridays will be classed as off-peak all day.

The fare is based on what time your journey begins. It doesn’t matter what time your journey ends.
