Stairs, lifts and escalators
The Elizabeth line at Farringdon is wheelchair accessible, and has step-free access from the street to the train. The Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines only have step-free access from the street to the platform, and there may be a step up or gap to the train.. Swiss Cottage is not wheelchair accessible
Farringdon entrance – There’s a lift between the entrance and the platforms. If you want to avoid the lift then you can use two flights of stairs (12 steps down +16 steps down)
Changing trains at Baker Street – Changing between the Bakerloo/Jubilee line is on the level, but you must use two flights of stairs for eastbound changes on the Circle/Metropolitan/H&C line (8 steps down +21 steps down) or three flights of stairs for westbound changes on the Circle/Metropolitan/H&C line (8 steps down +2x10 steps down)
Swiss Cottage exit – There’s an escalator from the platforms to the booking hall. If you want to avoid the escalator then you can use five flights of stairs (6 steps up +3x17 steps up +3 steps up). After that you must use one flight of stairs to the Belsize Road exit (10 steps up), or two flights to the Avenue Road/Finchley Road exit (2x11 steps up), or three flights to the Finchley Road westside exit (10 steps up +2x9 steps up), or four flights to the Avenue Road eastside exit (3 steps up +5 steps up +16 steps up +5 steps up), or four flights to the Eton Avenue exit (3 steps up +9 steps up +2x13 steps up)

Stairs, lifts and escalators
Swiss Cottage is wheelchair accessible, and has step-free access from the street to the train. The Elizabeth line at Farringdon is wheelchair accessible, and has step-free access from the street to the train. The Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines only have step-free access from the street to the platform, and there may be a step up or gap to the train.
Swiss Cottage entrance – You must use one flight of stairs between the Belsize Road entrance and the booking hall (10 steps down), or two flights from the Avenue Road/Finchley Road entrance (2x11 steps down), or three flights from the Finchley Road westside entrance (2x9 steps down +10 steps down), or four flights from the Avenue Road eastside entrance (5 steps down +16 steps down +5 steps down +3 steps down), or four flights from the Eton Avenue entrance (2x13 steps down +9 steps down +3 steps down). After that there’s an escalator down to the platforms. If you want to avoid the escalator you can use another five flights of stairs (3 steps down +3x17 steps down +6 steps down)
Changing trains at Baker Street – Changing between the Bakerloo/Jubilee line is on the level, but you must use two flights of stairs for eastbound changes on the Circle/Metropolitan/H&C line (8 steps down +21 steps down) or three flights of stairs for westbound changes on the Circle/Metropolitan/H&C line (8 steps down +2x10 steps down)
Farringdon exit – There’s a lift between the platforms and the exit. If you want to avoid the lift then you can use two flights of stairs (16 steps up +12 steps up)
Cash, Contactless, Oyster & Travelcard fares
The journey is in zones 1-2. The cheapest fare is £2.90 off-peak (£3.50 peak) when you pay by Oyster or contactless. There are no return tickets, you just pay the same as two singles

Peak and off-peak times
For Oyster and contactless off-peak is outside the hours of 6.30 AM-9.30 AM and 4 PM-7 PM (Mon-Fri). For travelcards it’s any time after 9.30 AM (Mon-Fri). Weekends are always classed as off-peak.
The fare is based on what time your journey begins. It doesn’t matter when it ends.
Other ways to travel between Farringdon and Swiss Cottage
Walking – The distance is about 3⅓ miles on foot, which would take you about 63-70 minutes
By bus – A single ticket is £1.75 (you may need more than one bus). The daily cap is £5.25 and a 1-day travelcard is £6 – Bus fares
By taxi – Riding 3⅓ miles will cost from £20 and £34 and take 14-28 minutes
By car – Parking near Farringdon station
