Forty years after Live Aid first united the world, Just For One Day became the fastest-selling musical in theatre history during its sold-out run at the Old Vic.

Live Aid was an unprecedented global music event with simultaneous concerts being played at London's Wembley Stadium and Philadelphia's John F Kennedy Stadium to raise money for Ethiopian famine relief.

During its combined 16-hour run an estimated 1.5 billion people in 150 countries either watched it live or on TV - nearly 40% of the world's population - making it the most-watched television special of all time.

The show tells the story of how Bob Geldof and Midge Ure managed to bring it all about with less than a month of preparation time, signing up iconic artists like Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, U2, Queen, Madonna, The Police, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Diana Ross.
