October half-term is the spookiest time of the year at Hampton Court, when you can enjoy all the atmospheric projections and creepy sound effects that have transformed Henry VIII's home into a haunted palace.
As you tip-toe through the dark winding corridors and creepy courtyards you might feel the presence of a ghost that's been roaming around the grounds for 450 years, or catch sight of an otherworldly figure who's lurking in one of the palace's many dark corners.
Be on the lookout for famous ghosts like Catherine Howard - Henry VIII's beheaded queen who is said to run down the Haunted Gallery begging forgiveness from the King. And they say a long-departed sorcerer is still haunting the Alchemist's Apothecary... concocting lethal potions to summon up sinister spirits!
Spooky storytelling sessions for kids
Kids will be able to enjoy a spine-tingling storytelling session in the King's Guard Chamber (11.30 AM, 12.30 PM, 2 PM and 3 PM), or try and escape from the tangled webs in the Spider's Lair, while the adults can walk amongst the pumpkins in the garden and then relax with a Halloween-themed treat in the cafe.
Note: Bear in mind that actors will be wearing ghoulish costumes and make-up, which some young visitors might find scary.
