The Royal Shakespeare Company's award-winning show is transferring to the West End for an eight month run. Based on the animated feature film by Hayao Miyazaki, My Neighbour Totoro is a charming coming-of-age tale that celebrates the magic of childhood and the transformative power of imagination.

Satsuki and Mei are spending their summer in the countryside while their poorly mother recovers at a convalescent hospital. As Mei explores her new surroundings she meets a host of fantastical creatures led by Totoro - the ancient guardian of the forest.

Satsuki is initially dubious of her younger sister's claims, but soon finds herself immersed in a thrilling adventure in a mystical world teeming with spirits, sprites and breathtaking wonders.

Record breaking run at the Barbican

During its original run at the Barbican the show broke their box office record for most tickets sold in a single day, picking up six Olivier Awards and five WhatsOnStage Awards, including 'Best Director' and 'Best Entertainment or Comedy Play'.
