The Passion of Jesus – Easter Story in Trafalgar Square

Theatre company Wintershall will be celebrating Easter with a moving portrayal of Jesus's final days in Trafalgar Square.

The epic live event has become permanent fixture over the Easter weekend and regularly attracts 20,000 spectators of all faiths.

100 actors bring the Bible story to life

The biblical story will be brought to life by 100 costumed actors as they re-enact Jesus' arrest, trial and crucifixion, and his miraculous re-appearance on the third day.

The shows features horses, donkeys and doves, Pontius Pilate being jeered and cheered by the branch-waving crowds, and Roman centurions constructing three crucifixes at the base of Nelson's Column and strapping three people to them.

Free to watch, no tickets required

There will be two 90-minute shows at 12 noon and 3.15 PM, and the performances will be projected onto big screens around the square to make sure everybody gets a good view.

The shows are completey free and no tickets are required. But bear in mind that the event is very popular and you might want to arrive 40 minutes early to secure a good spot.
