Stairs, lifts and escalators
Tooting Bec is not wheelchair accessible. The Jubilee line at Westminster is wheelchair accessible, and has step-free access from the street to the train. The Circle and District line only have step-free access from the street to the platform, and there may be a step up or gap to the train
Tooting Bec entrance – You must use two flights of stairs from the entrance to the booking hall (19 steps down +13 steps down from Trinity Road, and 20 steps down +12 steps down from Bec Road/Balham High Road). After that there’s an escalator down to the platforms. If you want to avoid the escalator then you can use another four flights of stairs (4x16 steps down)
Changing trains at Waterloo – You must use an escalator when changing trains from the Jubilee line platforms. You must use stairs when changing trains from the Bakerloo northbound platform, but there’s an escalator when changing trains from the Bakerloo southbound platform
Westminster exit – There’s a lift from the Circle/District line platforms to the booking hall (or 2x14 steps up), or a lift from the Jubilee eastbound platform (or two escalators), or two lifts from the Jubilee westbound platform (or three escalators). After that there’s another lift to the Bridge Street northside exit (or 16 steps up), or one flight of stairs to the Westminster Pier exit (5 steps down), or three flights to the Parliament Street eastside exit (12 steps up +12 steps up +10 steps down), or four flights to the Parliament Street westside exit (12 steps up +4 steps down +2x12 steps down), or five flights to the Westminster Bridge exit (5 steps up +11 steps up +15 steps up +14 steps down +13 steps down)

The journey is in zones 1-3. The cheapest fare is £3.10 off-peak (£3.80 peak) when you pay by Oyster or contactless. There are no return tickets, you just pay the same as two singles

Peak and off-peak times
For Oyster and contactless off-peak is outside the hours of 6.30 AM-9.30 AM and 4 PM-7 PM (Mon-Fri). For travelcards it’s any time after 9.30 AM (Mon-Fri). Weekends are always classed as off-peak.
The fare is based on what time your journey begins. It doesn’t matter when it ends.
Other ways to travel between Tooting Bec and Westminster
Walking – We don’t recommend walking as the stations are 4¾ miles apart
By bus – A single ticket is £1.75 (you may need more than one bus). The daily cap is £5.25 and a 1-day travelcard is £6 – Bus fares
By taxi – A 4¾ mile trip should cost you about £25.50 to £38 and take anything from 20 to 34 minutes
By car – Parking near Westminster station
