The Courtauld Gallery will be delving into their extensive collection of post-war art to examine how abstraction emerged in Europe and America during the 1950s and 1960s.

By using the work of artists such as Philip Guston, Jean Dubuffet and Joseph Beuys - as well as recent additions and gifts from the Karshan Collection - the display will examine the radical approaches artists took towards non-representational image making, and how they experimentated with different techniques and materials to create their ground-breaking works.
