Matt Forde's Political Party has been one of the UK's leading political podcasts for a long time now, and regularly featured in the Top 10 comedy podcasts on iTunes. Now he's bringing it back to the Duchess Theatre for another run of shows.

Matt began his political life as an advisor to the Labour Party before switching to comedy and voicing characters on Spitting Image (he does a great Boris Johnson, Keir Starmer and Donald Trump).

His shows typically begin with a bit of topical stand-up followed by an interview with a big-hitter from the world of politics, where he has the happy knack of getting them to open up and offer some surprisingly honest and revealing answers.

Upcoming guests on The Political Party

In the past he's interviewed everyone from Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and Nigel Farage to Nicola Sturgeon, Angela Rayner, Alastair Campbell and Jacob Rees-Mogg. The line-up for his current run of shows is as follows:

12th May: Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting; 9th June: Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch; 14th July: Former Conservative Party minister, Michael Gove;

What the theatre critics say...

The Telegraph: ★★★★★ "Forde has the kind of impersonation skills necessary to make the political class shift uncomfortably in its collective seat... informed, astute and consistently funny"; The Sunday Times: ★★★★ "Our foremost satirical stand-up. Whatever your politics you will find excellence here"; The Guardian: "A first class comic"
