Written by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe (the same people who brought us My Fair Lady and Camelot), Brigadoon is coming to Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in a new adaptation by Scottish playwright Rona Munro.

It tells the story of World War II pilots Tommy and Jeff who are trying to find their way home after their plane came down in the Scottish Highlands. As they wander across the hills they come across the enchanting village of Brigadoon, where they meet Fiona and Jean - two sisters who are busy preparing for a wedding.

But is everything quite as it seems?

Classic score by Frederick Loewe

The classic musical features the soaring songs Almost Like Being In Love, My Dearie, Waitin' and The Heather On The Hill, and originally ran for over 1,000 performances when it debuted on Broadway and the West End. It was later immortalised on film by Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse.

The Open Air Theatre has an outdoor setting in the heart of Regent's Park. The stage and all 1,300 seats are totally uncovered so you need to prepare yourself for all types of weather - this is London after all! Performances are sometimes cancelled because of bad weather, but never before the advertised start time. They might also have to stop and re-start midway through if it starts raining.
