Enter the fantastical world of visionary film maker Tim Burton in this major new exhibition at the Design Museum.

Recognised as a master of the comically grotesque and the endearingly misfit, Tim Burton is the force behind some of the most celebrated films of the last forty years including Batman, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The exhibition delves into Burton's own personal archive to explore his output from childhood to the present day, collecting together a selection of drawings, paintings, photographs, sketchbooks, moving images, sculptural installations and set and costume designs, highlighting the visual themes and motifs found throughout his colourful characters and worlds.

As a multi-disciplinary artist, visitors will be invited to explore not just his cinematic work, but also his creations as an illustrator, painter, photographer and author, plus some of his key collaborations with other designers.

The exhibition marks the final stop on a decade-long world tour, and will be its only showing in the UK.
