A special Christmas edition of the Science Museum's after-hours event, where everyone will be encouraged to eat, drink and be merry.
This time they'll be exploring the theory behind Christmas, bravely studying the science of extreme cold, checking out the chemistry of festive food, and questioning the physics of how Santa manages to visit so many homes in a single night.
Along the way you'll have a chance to create some decorations, down a mince pie (or two), and take part in an epic carol singing session with your fellow guests.
Special events that can be booked or paid for
The Muppet Christmas Carol (£12) - Enjoy a seasonal screening of this classic Christmas comedy starring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, plus some bloke called Michael Caine. There will also be a talk discussing whether the laws of physics would actually allow Scrooge to travel through time to visit Christmas Past, Present and Future.
Versailles: Science & Splendour (£6) - Discover how the Palace of Versailles used science to project its power across France with this exhibition of opulent objects, architecture and eye-witness accounts.
During the 17th and 18th centuries the Royal palace became a major site of scientific thinking and you'll see spectacular objects like Louis XV's rhinoceros, a sculptural clock about the creation of the world, and an extraordinarily detailed map of the lunar surface by Jean-Dominique Cassini.
Silent Disco (£4) - One of the highlights of the night is the Silent Disco that they hold in the Exploring Space gallery. Grab yourself a pair of headphones and hit the dancefloor - if you don't like the pop, rock or party tunes that are playing in your head then simply flick over to one of the other channels and strut your stuff to a brand-new tune. But here's the catch: everybody will end up dancing to different songs!
Wonderlab (£7.50) - Enter a world of wonder that will fuel your imagination and reveal the real beauty of science and maths, encouraging you to see the world in new and exciting ways.
There are 50 mind-blowing marvels inside this interactive gallery. You'll see lightning strike before your eyes, travel through space under a canopy of stars, and then come back down to earth to play with the forces on a giant friction slide.
Power Up (£6) - A retro gamer's paradise with some of most famous games and consoles from the last half-century. Fancy an ancient game of Pong? Or the iconic Pacman? How about Minecraft or Mario Kart? You can even test out a virtual reality headset!
Whether you're a serious gamer or just want to pummel your friends in a multi-player showdown, there’s bound to be something for everyone here.
